Hello, and welcome to the ASCEND How Healthy is Your UKG System webinar. Thank you for joining. We appreciate you taking the time out of your day to learn a little bit about a health assessment, the services that we provide here at Ascend, and how we could help you take and make better utilization of your UKG solution. My name is Sandi Mundt. I am the Senior Manager of Marketing here at Ascend, and I’m going to allow the subject matter experts for today’s presentation, Michelle and TC, to introduce themselves.
Hi. Good morning, and welcome. I’m Michele Lee-Marks. I’ve been working with the UKG product for over 30 years. I was a client first and then moved into an implementation role with UKG. I’m certified in the Post Go Live services as well as Business Intelligence. My areas of focus include the HR and payroll side, general ledger, workflow security, and BI and alerts. I’m really excited to spend time with you today and share some insight.
And I am TC McKiernan. I’m a Solution Consultant on the WFM or UKG Pro WFM side. I’ve worked on UKG for about seven years, started my career at UKG, and then came over to Ascend. I am certified in UKG timekeeping, scheduling, and accruals. Like Michelle said, we look forward to giving you insights into our health assessment and hope you get some value out of it.

Michelle: A health assessment evaluates your system as a whole — configuration, compliance, user experience, and functionality. It’s strategic: is your system aligned with goals, reducing risks, improving efficiency, and maximizing investment?
We focus on three areas: processes (pain points & priorities), configuration (workflows, data integrity, gaps, inefficiencies), and reporting findings with actionable recommendations. Benefits include stronger performance, reduced risks, better user experience, automation, and clarity on system performance.
A health assessment identifies why processes exist, improves efficiency, ensures best practices, and optimizes the end-user experience. We review data integrity, system configuration, and provide tools for accurate reporting.
Focus areas for UKG Pro and WFM: payroll accuracy, tax compliance, deductions/benefits alignment, organizational structure, workflow governance, security controls, employee data integrity. Additional areas: benefits admin, performance management, recruiting, onboarding. Common findings: terminated employees still have access, misaligned roles, incorrect tax info, misconfigured earning codes, employee-level setup errors.
WFM focus: scheduling, business structure, data access controls, workflows/notifications, self-service, reporting, payroll validation, policies, accruals. Examples: nurse job setup too simple causing operational issues, proper employee groups, workflow notifications, leveraging self-service, underutilized reporting tools, policy alignment, skills/certifications integration, multiple time entry methods, custom tiles/dashboards, exceptions & alerts.
Outcomes/deliverables: a holistic report including findings, risks, best practices, estimated effort, and a roadmap for improvements. Clear structure, task ownership, and actionable steps provided.
